Multi Utility Infrastructure Installation, Yorkshire

Alconex were awarded the contract by Keepmoat Homes Yorkshire East to design, install and commission the Multi Utility Infrastructure for their residential development at Thurnscoe Phase 3, Barnsley for 360 plots.

An Early LV was obtained to ensure no delays to the developers build programme and first legal completions due to a significant stretch of road construction and HV cable installation required for the substation energisation. Alconex installed and commissioned a 1MVA iDNO substation which was energised within the timescales provided by the developer.

Water diversions were required to facilitate the site in close proximity to Electric HV Overhead Lines and a railway line. Alconex worked in collaboration with the water incumbent, DNO, developer and groundworkers to resolve the issue safely and swiftly.

Works commenced in 2020 and are due to be completed in 2027.
