To energise this ambitious Garden Village, Alconex has secured a substantial load of 35 MVA from the SSE Distribution Network Operator. As a fully accredited Independent Connection Provider (ICP), we will handle the entire load installation for the 132kv/11kv connection, with the site subsequently adopted and maintained by the trusted Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO), MUA (Murphys).

Our work also includes essential offsite civil engineering to deliver the initial power supply from the point of connection into the site boundary, culminating in the installation of a newly designed and built 4 MVA 11kV substations. This critical infrastructure will ensure reliable power for 700 new homes for phase one at Welborne.

Rather than using standard air source heat pumps, this forward-thinking development will leverage the nearby Portsmouth Reservoir to implement the UK’s largest ambient loop heating network system.
